28th – You’re a Titty!

Today will only be a short blog but it was yet another goodbye this morning, this time to our Jen. I felt really sad to leave after such a wonderful long weekend with her showing us so many things. But I did feel good we were giving her her bed back! We drove away and headed for the first point she’d advised which was Uretiti Beach – what a name aye!! It was only about 20 minutes drive away and actually part of the same long Beach that we’d been to with Jen a couple of days before, all part of Bream Bay, just this section was called Uretiti haha. We hung out here for a while just relaxing and making the most of the sun and views, and ate lunch there not long after. Obviously now we were in the stage of trying to eat everything we had in the van so we wouldn’t have to throw anything away, so pesto pasta was on the menu today.

We drove around that afternoon stopping whenever we felt like it and getting lost once again with Wendy. We’d been trying to get to a placed called Tawharanui but I’m not sure we made it to the exact bit of it we intended to haha…

That night we’d chosen to camp in a council run site which was basically a carpark of a big seaside park area which was quite alright actually. There was no ranger or honesty box, this one you had to call up and go through the whole council service to get to a person, but it was only a little slow and only $8 each so not bad. We parked Joe and after about a 4 second discussion (and yes I realise I’ve just stated we were trying to eat everything left  in the van) we started the 15 minute walk into town… to the little tow of takeaway shops we’d read about. We ordered some fish and chips and took em back to the van. They weren’t amazing but we enjoyed them nonetheless.

We went to sleep early again as tomoro we have our meeting with friends of Muirs Tui and Blackie, to show us around their area and marae – so lucky to have all these contacts!
